two walls are concrete and I am going to use 1X3 firring strips with 3/4 inch foam insulation to finish those walls. Using shallow boxes, I need to know what size romex to use...12-3? Do I anchor the boxes into the concrete or attach them to the firring strips?

My elderly neighbor needs replacement bags for a Kenmore Powermate sweeper. It is the canister type, blue in color and the canister says Kenmore Whisperer. It is a 12.0 amp sweeper. I am not sure what bags to buy and she threw away the old one. Any ideas? I am going to Sears but I thought someone could advise me as to what type bags to purchase. Thanks

When I moved back into my old house, I brought along a lot of things I had from the previous place and have not sorted them out. I do not know where to start from as my room is in such a mess and I have things piled up all over the place. Would somebody please give me some advice?

I keep meaning to find out the answer but no-one seems to know. this is a rubber ball, about the size of a squash ball, hanging down from underneath the ironing board on a little chain. there's a hole in it, which tapers inwards.

I wondered whether it might be designed to hold some sort of laundry pen or something, but that seems silly.

Can someone put me out of my misery and tell me what this is supposed to be for?

Just bought a house with hard wood floors, the previous renters were not too kind to them. We can't afford to refinish them right now but how can I make them as good as possible.

I'm going to need about a dozen ordinary house-bricks for a job in the house, but am not sure whether how they are sold. Is it possible to buy bricks individually (or in small amounts) or do you have to buy them by the gross or something. I don't want to go on the thieve from a local building site for the few bricks I need, but if I can't buy just a few rather than loads I might just have to. Anyone have an idea of price per brick. Pennies, surely?

I cut back some peace lilies and put the stems in water to root. I gathered up the pieces in my hand, and now I have a painful, itchy rash.I did no other gardening and stayed indoors while doing this. There are blisters along the base of my fingers and it is red and very itchy.

We are building a new house in the Denver, Colorado area and were wondering if there is a current trend in selecting the type of wood and stain for the kitchen and bathroom cabinets? Are most new houses going with cherry, maple, oak, or hickory for their cabinetry? And what color of stain is in now?
