I cut back some peace lilies and put the stems in water to root. I gathered up the pieces in my hand, and now I have a painful, itchy rash.I did no other gardening and stayed indoors while doing this. There are blisters along the base of my fingers and it is red and very itchy.

Different people can have sensitivities to any plant or animal. So yes you could have a sensitivity to peace lily oil or sap or microscopic hairs on the leaves, etc. I once knew a guy who was allergic to himself--no lie.

Best thing Ive found for the fastest recovery is put hand moisturiser on your hands and put rubber gloves on over top. Tough to do at work but when your home is best time. The gloves will act as a second skin while your skin underneath uses the time to heal and regenerate without the dryness sinking deeper into the flesh.
