When a fruit gets too ripe then suddenly gnats are there???? Where do they come from when there were none until the fruit ripened?

They are attracted to some of the gasses a ripening fruit gives off (like ethylene, for example). Being in a well ventilated place or room should decrease their numbers because it will dilute the conc. of these gases.

The other question: They come from tiny maggots.

Gnats just appear when the fruit gets to ripe for they can eat it.

Gnats is just another word for nats. It is short for { GO NAT } Your not from the south i see.
