What replacement bags do I buy for Kenmore Powermate vacuum - 12 amp - canister says Kenmore Whisperer?
My elderly neighbor needs replacement bags for a Kenmore Powermate sweeper. It is the canister type, blue in color and the canister says Kenmore Whisperer. It is a 12.0 amp sweeper. I am not sure what bags to buy and she threw away the old one. Any ideas? I am going to Sears but I thought someone...

I have a valid suggestion, and have done this often.
Go to Sears.com,,, then parts and service links,,, then specifically type in part numbers and/or brand name,,,IE: Kenmore Whisper.
Their parts/service data base is huge and I've never been disappointed.

I have this vacuum cleaner and the bags I buy are "Kenmore #5055"
The pkg. says " Kenmore Canister Bags"
The number 5055 is really all you need.
p.s. I think it is nice that you are helping out your elderly neighbor.

Sears carries replacements for every thing they have ever sold. Get the serial number (usually on the bottom of the vac) and the model if possible. If needed, take the vac to the store. Do your homework on line first. I order mine on line, but the local Sears at the mall carries them. They come 3 in a pack, but not sure we have the same vac. Is it canister or upright ? (important info for the sales clerk)

Use to be a 50558 - now #50104 if it is yellow paper bag-- if it was a white cloth bag then 50557 is current- but on the bottom of the vac -on a silver sticker that has the model # on it will give the bag# and belt # also-- hope this helps.-

Go to Sears, and bring your manual. A sales assoc. should be able to find your bag in a snap.
