There are many types of drawer glides. The two main categories are side mount and undermount. Open the drawer and find the slide(s). Observe the slide as you fully extend the drawer. What is stopping the drawer from coming out? If there is a movable stop, work it with your fingers, to see how it operates. You should be able to swing it up, or release it, by pressing a button or tab. With some sidemounts, the wheels on the part that moves with the drawer will fit through a slot in the part that stays on the cabinet frame. With these units, tilting the drawer, as it reaches full extension, will allow the wheels to escape the track, so the drawer can come out. If you still can't get it, try to find the brand name of the slide, or call the place that sold the cabinets. Good luck.

Most drawers can be removed by gently tilting the drawer upward while it is opened and it will come right out when you pull it a bit more forward. The drawer glides are made with safety features that prevent the drawers from falling out if you open them too far, and this makes them a bit tricky to take out completely until you get the hang of it. If this doesn't work, call either the manufacturer of your kitchen cabinets or the installer -- either would be able to provide you with detailed instructions on how to remove a drawer.
Alternately, you might be able to reach the fallen item from below, if it isn't a bottom drawer.

ALl drawers are removeable... OR your contractor played one evil joke on you.
Simply pull the drawer out as far as it will go then tilt upward... and remove. Pay attention to HOW it is connected so YOU can get it back in there.

Pull out the drawer all the way. At the stop, lift the front a little to release and then continue pulling it out.
