I have a few stainless steel things in my kitchen, one is a shiny toaster oven. The other is a bread box, has that pewter look. I want them to look great, have tried vinegar and water, microfibre, any other ideas? Can't get the fingerprints off.

If you don't feel like buying anything and just want to use a household product, you should use toothpaste. You can get a toothbrush or a washcloth, put some toothpaste on it and scrub it. When you are done, you wash it off with water and it should be shiny again.

Olive Oil. Rub stainless steel sinks with olive oil to remove streaks.
Vinegar. To clean and polish stainless steel, simply moisten a cloth with undiluted white or cider vinegar and wipe clean. Can also be used to remove heat stains on stainless steel cutlery.
Club Soda. Remove streaks or heat stains from stainless steel by rubbing with club soda.

I have used a small amount of turpentine on a cloth with great results. Lighter fluid for charcoal or kerosene for lamps would also work. Gasoline would work but don't do it due to the fire hazard. If you don't like the smell which is understandable, then wash it with any detergent afterwards to remove the smell.
