I bought a door peephole (not planning to use for a door) and i put it under water to clean the lense since it was dirty. I dont know what i was thinking. Now its all wet inside the lense and foggy. its been two hours. it got better after 30 minutes. but now its worse than ever. Will it get better on its own? or is there anything i can do to fix it.

Also I must leave out of town in 30 minutes. so i cant go buy a new one.

You could try using a hair dryer on it to dry up the moisture... funny question!

Assuming that the lens is glass (and not a cheap plastic that will melt) try running a hair dryer on it for several minutes. The combination of heat and air should help to remove the water vapor via the same small hole / crack where the water entered in the first place.

As always, please be careful not to leave your hairdryer unattended and/or against anything that is flammable.

Disassemble the peephole, take a hair dryer to it and it will evaporate the moisture off the lens. good luck.

i would try sitting it in the sun, or getting a hair dryer and blowing it directly on it, might take a while, but if it heats the glass up to a pretty high temp than it should start to dry it out. good luck
