I have a stump I think is a redwood that I need to remove completely as I need to put a dry well in the same spot. How deep do redwood stumps go? Do they have taproots? So far I have not been able to grind it out; it's too deep for that.

I'm moving and need to touch up a few spots in my apartment before I leave. I've bought the white paint but what's the best way to mix it in order to have it look the same color as white paint that's been applied before. Bright new white paint kind of stand out against old white paint. Thanks.

I'm supposed to write a paper on new building technology. It can be materials or a process or whatever. The problem is, I can't even think of a topic. Any help would be appreciated! If you could give me a link to a specific article, that would be even better!!! Thank you!!!!

Well we just bought a house. We are closing on Thursday and painting the base color the same day while my 6-month-old girl and 5-year-old boy are at school. Friday we need to move in, so we are planning to work on the texture after we move in as we go. Is it safe to paint with kids in the house?

Moved about three years ago but kept my house and rented to a buddy until this past June. Have been getting it ready to sell over the summer, cleaning, painting, new floors etc and am almost ready to list it. Is it hard to sell yourself or worth paying the commissions to a real estate agent?

When the dry cleaned drapery were brought back I was very shocked to see the dark spots showing on the sheer drapery. Cleaning company states it is common because chemical brought out the dark spots which were already there. But when they picked up the drapery, there were no sign of any spots on the sheer drapery. Should I believe what they told us or should I believe they actually spoiled the drapery?

I have a penchant for letting random plants grow in my yard. I always surprise by what comes up. This year I have a mystery plant. Can anyone ID this?

I live in Vegas. This plant started growing in June and just started to put out blooms. There is a link to my yahoo photos page so you can see pictures.

Thanks!

Our fireplace chimney is leaking and on the other side of the wall , which is in my daughters bedroom, there is black mold growing on the wall. The wall is painted but it is coming thru the paint. The same thing is happening on the ceiling as well. Im very afraid of this situation as i've heard so many horror stories of how black mold can kill a person. I have taken my daughter out of the room since i found this. I would have already tried to fix it but we rent this house and we have to inform our landlord about this. Can anyone help?

I washed the dishes the night before and was going to empty the COOL dishes the next morning, put my hand 1/2 on the glass and it blew up! Glass blew all over the kitchen even embedding into the wood floor. This was a thick drinking glass. I did not even have my hand all the way around the glass! There was glass on countertops and all the way across the kitchen. Has this happened to anyone else? It makes me leary having children help empty the dishwasher now. Could not find any answers on the web!

I plan on putting in a sidedriveway, and wrap it around my house to extend my back porch. Total, it will be about 1200 sqr feet.

I live in the Mojave Desert (hot and dry). Any recommendation for what kind of cement I should use?

I had tons of fruit flys and I couldnt figure out where they were coming from. Well turns out they were coming from my cabinet where I had forgotten some potatos a few months ago. So I killed most of those (although a few pesky ones have escaped) and while I was doing this I opened the back door hoping that they would fly out. In that process I gained about 6-8 regular flys that feel it is there job to make me as miserable as possible. How do I get rid of them besides chasing them around with a fly swatter or hanging that god awful tape from the ceiling.
