What detergents and softeners are the best? what temp wash and what temp dry?

I love Gain...both detergent and fabric softener. Make sure the fabric softener is concentrated or ultra concentrated. I wash most of my stuff on warm and the same goes for drying. You can pretty much use all temps...just read the labels and sort it according to colors or water temperature.

I LOVE the smell of laundry dried outside on a clothes line, but since here that is only practical a short time, I use GAIN powder detergent - Original or when I can find it Fresh Linen (or something like that), then I use DOWNEY Lavender/Vanilla dryer sheets. Even my kids like the smell of their clothes & my husband like the bedding.
I prefer to use dryer sheets rather than liquid. I can use the dryer sheets with all of our laundry, but it's best not to use the liquid softener with towels because it coats the fiber making them less absorbant

I am not able to have "scented" laundry...migraine city...so I use an All-Natural Organic detergent or Baking Soda.
As for a fabric softener...vinegar is a dream! AND....it's a whole lot less-expensive than those commercial products.

I personally love the smell of whisk. I don't use softeners with it because it smells so good and i don't want to ruin the smell. If I use cheap detergent though, I will use bounce dryer sheets. They smell pretty good.

Well you are supposed to wash whites with hot and colors with cold. I dry most stuff on regular heat but you may want to read your tags to see what they say.
Fabric softener you ask? Well, I think you should REALLY try this one as I LOVE it, lol. Those new Downey Simple Pleasures ones are great. I have the greenish blue one now and its my favorite but purple is good too.

I usually wash cold and dry on the permanent press setting.

Bounce dryer sheets smell awesome and they're very strong so the smell lingers for days.

I LIKE MY CLOTHES CLEAN AND STAIN FREE I DONT LIKE FABRIC SOFTNER IM ALERGIC SOO I USE ONLY ONE CAPFULL OF VINIGER IN THE RINCE WATER .IT DOESNT MAKE MY CLOTHES SMELL BAD IT CUTS THE GREASE AND MAKES THEM SOFT IN THE DRYER.MOM ALWAYS USED IT BECAUSE I BROKE OUT ALSO AN EXTRA RINCE IN COLD WATER DOES THE TRICK GOOD LUCK
