I'll bite my tongue about the use of the word stupid, to avoid offending anyone,,,BUT as your first answerer states,,, a play table, designed for some modest sand play is perfectly acceptable.

Certainly I wouldn't create a "beach" in the room, and a 2 year old should be monitored 24/7 anyway.

You don't state that You're thinking of it, so I'll assume this is something you're expressing an opinion about, as it regards someone else.

If I happened to be the one introducing SAND PLAY to a 2 year old, I'd offer it very modestly, probably pre cover the floor beneath an appropriate table with a tarp, and GET INVOLVED.

At 2 years old, even a child who lives in Central Kansas might benefit from one more learning experience, beyond all the STUFF offered at Babies R Us, and no one I know can deny that GROWTH is far more than just gaining inches in height.

Repectfully,
Steven Wolf

There is no way that I would do that, sand is meant to be out side not in a house, and played with, Yes there are tables for that, but most people do have two year olds playing in it, its more like 5 or 6 years olds. I am a mother of 5 ages 15, 11, 9, 3, and 3 month old.

That might be one of the worst ideas I've ever heard. Just imagine the mess!
I don't even think that a two year old should be allowed in a sandbox. They
would probably eat the sand.

Not a chance! Little Johny comes into your room in morning and hops in your bed, with a really leaky diaper after he has spent 30 minutes playing in the sand. NOPE.

I am not sure what the question really is, but a sand table for play is fine, but I would put it in a play room, and make sure it is covered when not in use. Children should always be supervised even around the sand.

Maybe in a two year old cat's room. Besides it's STUPID, not stupied.

I wouldnt put sand anywhere in my house unless it was one of those little rock garden things and no one under 18 would be allowed anywhere near it, lol.
