I washed the dishes the night before and was going to empty the COOL dishes the next morning, put my hand 1/2 on the glass and it blew up! Glass blew all over the kitchen even embedding into the wood floor. This was a thick drinking glass. I did not even have my hand all the way around the glass! There was glass on countertops and all the way across the kitchen. Has this happened to anyone else? It makes me leary having children help empty the dishwasher now. Could not find any answers on the web!

It was a drinking glass the kind with the thick bottom, actually a kids glass disney characters on it.

That is insane! I have no idea why that would happen if it were at room temperature and your hand was a normal temp. You are right to be worried about your kids but I really doubt that would happen again. I am wondering tho if it may have cracked in the dishwasher and that even the slightest touch just set it off... Do you happen to know where you got it from so you could find out who made it and maybe call them and ask them if there have been any similiar reports?
