Certainly you'd get a more accurate answer going directly to the source?
I'm going to assume that there is an error in the ad,,,as often happens.
The two are definitely different, and here in Florida, as well as other areas where high water tables might be an issue, a SLAB is just what it says, a formed, poured, concrete surface at whatever thickness is appropriate.
A BASEMENT should be exactly what you assume it to be, an area beneath a house that allows that one can access it from indoors,,or in some cases through an exterior access, and actually be a ROOM or multiple rooms of divided spaces.
I've been in every state in this country and wonder still at descriptive terms such as "Daylight Basement."
Crawl Space is pretty well defined and evident in seeing what that is.
The only other thing I can think of which seems prehistoric to me is if the realtor is selling a house in an area where DIRT FLOOR basements still exist, and Slab defines some upgrade from that.

It could have a partial basement and the rest of the house could be on a slab, who knows, even with a partial basement it seems that they would at least have to have a crawl space as our house has a partial finished basement and the rest of the house is on a crawl space, but our family room is on a slab.. If it is set up like a split level it could be possible to have both.

no, it means the base of the house is made of concrete slab. that's it. you'll have to inquire with the owners or something as to whether the house actually has a basement.

I believe that means that it is a basement and you actually do go down stairs to get to it but it is just a slab of cement. Pretty much an unfinished basement.

when it says crawl space that means low height ,just enough room to crawl usually dirt and allows you to get necessary work done. Slab means it is concreted, with potential to improve.
