When the dry cleaned drapery were brought back I was very shocked to see the dark spots showing on the sheer drapery. Cleaning company states it is common because chemical brought out the dark spots which were already there. But when they picked up the drapery, there were no sign of any spots on the sheer drapery. Should I believe what they told us or should I believe they actually spoiled the drapery?

Yes the man is telling you the truth...I worked at a cleaners and have seen this happen.....Does the care label say dryclean only?....It might be that you could put them in water to wash them, BUT DO NOT PUT THEM IN THE DRYER....Hang dry them....Let us know what the fabric is in the drapes...If they are sheer I`m sure they are not lined...

Well....At first I only got the first part of your question, now I see why you asked about that. The Man's telling you the truth. As I was going to say, if you have any unknown spots on that type drapes, water,Mountain Dew,anything that dries without too much spotting, the dry cleaning fluid may darken them. I guess you found that out. Sorry.........LATER

sure it is they dont use any liquid substance so the stain just gets dried into drapes. like anything drycleaned your better off gently washing it yourself dont spin dry or wring it out flat on towels in sun
