Every winter my mum leaves her pool to rot, never cleans it and after the three months of winter her husband puts a chlorene 'treatment ' in it and it makes the pool clear again. Does that make the pool safe to swim in again?

I moved house this year and the front and back lawns where full of moss, daisies, buttercups and other weeds. I have gotten rid of the moss and have had some success with grass seeds but for next spring I would like to begin the preparation for the perfect lawn without buying a new one (I have spent to much time weeding, raking and forking to give in) Please help I have never had to garden before.

Thank you!

An ongoing construction next door, brought about a hole which was excavated for an addition and will be closed again soon- but it is close to the tree roots, there since 8 months, and about "1/4 pie" of the tree roots.
I can reach the tunnel entries of the carpenter ants, is there anything I could pore in there?
The tree and the ants are about 8 feet from the house.

Somehow my apple tree has been impregnated - who is the culprit.
I have two apple trees that I grew from pips, for the last couple of years the larger one has born fruit. I read in a book that because they grew from pips they would never bear fruit (now proven wrong). But does it mean that they couldn't pollenise each other? Did a bird or insect do it after coincedentally being at another apple tree somewhere (would it have to be the same type of apple?), and improbably going directly to mine? I don't suppose that many gardens have apple trees in them

I have a leak every time my laundry tub drains to the sewer pipe (metal). It leaks from the joint on the top part of the t joining the pipe (metal) coming over from the tub and the vertical sewer pipe. I assume it's leaking as the water rises above the joint if the drainage is slow.

First, is the fact that water is rising above the joint concerning? And second, should I just use an epoxy around the joint, or do I need to take apart the pipe and round it with teflon tape, etc.
