Just be careful of the fabric you choose to dye - they don't all hold dye the same way, so you might not get the exact colour on the box unless it's 100% cotton. Otherwise good luck!

Rather than use boxed dye, consider using a grey tea to get the right color. The easiest way to ensure even color is to mix the tea in your bathtub, then put the sheers in, stirring periodically. The tea won't affect your bathtub and you can easily control the color.

Use an old white cloth to make sure you have the right shade of grey before putting your sheers in. Once you have the right shade you can lighten or darken by using more or less tea.

Try looking in the JCPenney catalog; they have almost every type and color of window treatments. Otherwise, find a seamstress and have her make them. If you have basic knowledge of a sewing machine, try making them yourself. Here's the reason: sheer fabrics tend to be synthetic, therefore they won't dye properly. Only natural fabrics can be counted on for good results.

Most sheer fabric is synthetic so it won't take dye. If you try it look for cotton fabric, it won't silky and shiney, just thinly woven.
