This coating is ok when it is undamaged, but when some has scratched or worn off and some has not, there are areas of oxidation and areas of "like new" shine. I tried removing this on an old piece of brass and it came off rather easily with nail polish remiover, but I think this was quite worn and thin already. Now I have a piece of silverplate with this coating on most of it, I tried the nailpolish remover and it is not really working. Does anyone known of a simple way of removing this clearcoat on silver plate? (it is not a particularly valuable piece or I would go to a professional. Thanks in advance.

I painted a pattern of squares over existing paint but now I want to change it back to be one block colour. how can i make sure you can no longer see the squares or that the paint is not raised where the squares used to exist? is there anyway to do this without a paint removal?

I bought a Therapedic memory foam mattress - it was great in the store - it molded to my body right away. When it was delivered to my house and I lay down on it, it was seriously as hard as a rock. I am unable to sleep on it at night. Is that normal when it's brand new or is something wrong with the mattress? Does anyone else own one of these and had this happen to them? I'm pretty upset since I spent close to $1000 on it.

Have you ever heard of using Murphy's Oil Soap (usually used for cleaning hardwood floors) for hard to clean stains? What kind of stains does it remove?

Is there any way to wash a sweatshirt without getting the little pill type lint bits all over it? Those things never come off. Would one of those at home dry cleaning kits (dryel) work? It seems like anytime I have ever washed a brand new sweatshirt it comes out all pill-ey (if you get what I mean) Any suggestions?

I saw this done somewhere and not sure where but it was beautifull...they took a pce of plywood I believe and they wrapped the fabric till it was tight and I think stapled it on the back and put thin furring strips around it....Placed it on the wall about halfway...
