Actually, if its set up, (a couple of hours), then you have nothing to worry about.

In fact, you SHOULD keep it moist for about a week, put burlap bags or straw over it, so that the concrete will "cure" with the moisture.

(So many people dont realize it, but concrete needs to stay moist for a long time to cure. If not, it will crack and flake with in a few short years, because it didnt cure "right").

So, let it rain, let it rain, let it rain :)

I wish you well.

Just to be on the safe side, stick some strong rods or wooden poles into the ground. Find a secure way to tie a sheet of plastic tight over the rods in a way that will cover the sidewalk. Then just pray everything works. Hope this helps.
Tips that seems to make sense: keep the plastic at least 1/2" above the cement, but no more than a foot above the cement.

If you can cover it with plywood/plyscord or something else, it will be fine. The water on the cement is not a bad thing. It's the drops hitting the surface that will make the surface rough.

Nowadays it's mostly fast-setting cement, and as long as you give it a few hours to set, there is nothing to worry about.
The rain will just help with curing.

more then likely you may suffer some damage.. But then you might be fine if you build some sort of cover for it... Can you? if it is not set you may just end up ruining it.... check to see what the guarantee is. makes me wonder why they poured it if they knew this storm is coming?
