If you're in the UK, you can get RAID Lavender Mothproofer. £2.99 for a pack of 2 in Tesco. It's worked in my home.

Avoid mothballs at all costs, I don't care how effective they are, it's the vilest smell in the world!

I use cedarwood I bought from the local timber merchant, rough it up with sandpaper and hang it in your wardrobe. You can also put pure cedarwood oil on to the wood, or on to a piece of cotton wool for the same effect.

Use cedar pieces. You usually can buy them at large hardware stores or even Target like places where they sell hangers.

It smells great. If you are rolling in cash, line a closet in it. It's awesome.

I bought some bags like "seal a meal" that you suck all the air out of with a vaccum. They are moth proof. Seen them at several stores, web, also Costco.

i bought a sonic moth deterrent which seems to really work. apparently makes a sound they don't like (which we can't hear) and they piss off elsewhere.
good luck.

The hardware store sells a box of something (not moth balls) for your shelves and cupboards.
