OK, we have a 2-3 year old 6 burner Thernador range, dual fuel, professional, big honking expensive thing. The range is set in an island, and we had the backsplash that comes with the range installed (it rises about 4 inches above the range). There has been this buzzing noise, not loud, but irritating in a quiet kitchen that comes out of the back of the range. The appliance repair guy told us that it is supposed to make that noise and that our cabinets are too low. That they should be higher and that would muffle the noise. Does this make any sense at all? I would have someone else come to look at it, but I paid $60 to have this guy do nothing with the thing. Thanks in advance.

I have set traps and catch at least 50 a week in each (3). I cant find a nest and they seem to be drawn to my aspen trees. Removing the trees is not an option. Is there a concentrate I can put in a sprayer? The canned stuff is getting expensive and does not keep them away though it does kill em. Am i screwed until winter and try to stop em early next spring? They have attacked me, 4 stings and I have little kids I worry about. I am willing to try anything short of a flame thrower,or yanking the trees. Prefer not to use an exterminator but if that is my only option so be it.

I am a widow with a three bedroomed sixties house with original windows. I am not sure whether I am going to stay here but will certainly do so for the next two years until I retire. The windows are OK but not brilliant. Is it worth spending the money to replace them.

I have many clothes that say "Wash Cold, Tumble Dry Low (or hang dry), No Bleach". the problem is that without the heat and the chlorine bleach, the clothes eventually mildew. Is there something that I can add to the wash to kill the mildew that won't affect the clothes? Mostly I am having the problem with heavy items like designer jeans and thick cotton golf shirts. The real delicates, such as the rayon and silk tend to dry faster so I don't seem to have a problem with them.

I am not allowed to hang clothes outside of my home, according to the tennants of the homeowners association (and it's so humid and rainy in Georgia, that I don't think that would help much). And I don't want to buy an expensive dehumidifier for my home, which I am not sure would solve the problem entirely, anyway.

Any suggestions??? Does color safe bleach kill mildew? All of my mildew products seem to contain chlorine! Heeeeelp! :)

I've tried nail varnish remover, I've tried clearasil, I've tried plain old Fairy Liquid and water, and it's just not shifting. Any ideas?

We want to sort stuff in our house, into stuff we want to get rid off and stuff we want to keep. But there's a problem; we also need to redo the floors of our house. What would be the best way to do this? 1) Either get one of those PODs (personal storage units you can keep outside your house) and put everything in there, redo the floors, then sort everything in the POD, or 2) sort everything in the house at the start, THEN put everything in the POD and redo the floors?????????????????????????????????????

I'm looking at planting some landscaping. What plants well in the fall in Georgia? Non-perrenials, please (I'm not one to change up plants every few months--yuck--once planted, I want them to stay).
