I put the house plants out for the summer, now the wolf spiders have built large house like webs in them. How do I get them nasty creatures outta my plants?

We found this spider in a huge web (like 3ft high and wide) in our driveway the other night. Can anyone tell me what kind of spider it is? It was about an inch long and right in the middle of a huge orb web.

Are there any uses for carrot tops?

I have three gallons of carrot tops and I can't see throwing them all into the compost pit! What else can I do with them. I don't have a Bunny only a kitty!

Buying a Cherry Tree?

I'm looking for a standing (as opposed to weeping) cherry tree. I've been told by a greenhouse that they have trees that are 10-12 feet currently that grow to be about 25 feet.

Are there larger ones, or is this what I can expect anywhere?

Does anyone have suggestions for the best (even if most expensive) cherry trees?

if my land title on SLOPING property says that my lot is 30 meters long, does this mean it is really smaller?

if my land title on SLOPING property says that my lot is 30 meters long, does this mean it is really smaller than 30 meters if i measure it horizontally? I mean, did the geodetic engineers who measured the lot use the natural sloping countour of the property when determining length for the land title, INSTEAD of the horizontal distance? I am asking this since I plan to build a house on the property and don't know what is the maximum single storey house floor area i can build on the property. Thanks.

Random black dots on windowsills and other items...?

During the summer we seem to have been getting these random black dots about the size of a small pin head on the window sills and other stuff lying around like CD cases and the sewing machine. They are in groups and are all the same size. Does anyone know where they are from or what it is. My friend suggested from the flies that get into the house but i'm not sure...I don't know where i would find out. Please help.

my garbage disposal won't drain water & dishwasher makes a LOUD noise for 5-10 min in early cycle only. HELP!

not sure if they are related? dishwasher was a used "freebie" installed 3 mos ago & has been LOUD (wondering if we ever put insulatiuon on top of it?) garbage disposal just started slow draining after I put cantalope seeds in to dispose of past weekend......
