During the summer we seem to have been getting these random black dots about the size of a small pin head on the window sills and other stuff lying around like CD cases and the sewing machine. They are in groups and are all the same size. Does anyone know where they are from or what it is. My friend suggested from the flies that get into the house but i'm not sure...I don't know where i would find out. Please help.

Could be fly dung or mold/mildew. Try wiping down the areas with a solution of diluted bleach.

You are getting a nice collection of insect terds. It could be from just about any type of insect or bug, so in the future, try and keep your windows and doors closed as much as possible, and make sure you have a screen if they are open.

Your friend is right. The dots are from flies or other insects. It's their waste.

It's called MOLD! Condensation on the windowsill will cause it to grow.

it could very well be from bugs or mold. Maybe you should just give everything a good wipe down and dust often after that.

yup, it could indeed be fly scat. wash them off with a strong detergent, and kill the flies.
