This is the first year I have ever had an amaryllis and I was wondering when do you bring the plant inside and put it in the dark so that it will bloom for the holidays?

long story shorty, I was trying to remember where my entertainment center lined up on the wall so my dad wouldn't know I moved it (he doesn't like me messing w/it, tv expensive) so I used some tape (clear, I was dumb) and a marker to put on the wall, but when I pull the tape away I see I accidentally marked part of the wall------how do I get rid of this Sharpie (permanent marker) mark??

I have a semi-believable excuse of why I was marking the wall in the first place, but I'd rather have it removed (MOM gets home 2:30-3, dad 3:30+ ......mom very observant (well green on white, not hard to miss), but not as mad --so need this before dad gets home)

I have tried gasoline, kerosene, and just about every flammable material there is and the fire keeps burning out. I also tried it in the winter, not summer. Any suggestions? I can't get this pile to burn!

Silly - i know! We just moved into a new house and the walls are perfect. I have some picture frames I want to hang, but don't want to use a nail - i recall seeing some kind of product that is a sticky type thing that you can stick to the wall (it's a white plastic hook i think) and then just hang your stuff off if it - when you want to remove it, there i some tabbie thing you pull and the adhesive can be easily removed??? Thanks for any insight - or some other creative ideas! :) 10 pts to best answer and 1 pt for all cordial answers as a 'thank you'!

I am planning on selling my home and I need to take out my icky carpet. My question is, would it be more practical for real estate needs to do Hardwood floors or Tile throughout? I only have a $3000.00 budget for my floors and my house is 1668 sq. ft. I think I am going to use it through the bedrooms too, I can just lay a big area rug down. I am just trying to maximize my property to sell so I can move out of state, and I really want to keep it cheap, but not cheap looking. Any suggestions?

Title sums it up, my central air is cooling the second floor of my house more then my first floor. The thermostat for the air is on the second floor, so it is shutting off at 74 degrees while my downstairs is still around 80 degrees. This problem is confusing knowing that hot air rises, yet my first floor is always hotter then my second floor. I thought it may be due to their being more vents for the air upstairs (7) then downstairs (4). I don't know if it matters but the unit was installed a few years ago, and the house didn't originally have central air. I don't want to close any ducts upstairs as they are all bedrooms.

Please help!

After painting, we noticed our drywall ceiling looks bad. You can see where the joint has been plastered because there is a bulge there. My boyfriend installed the ceiling himself and put the cut edge facing the middle of the ceiling instead of the angled edge. Does anyone have any good ideas on how to fix it?
