First don't want to use drywall because having a hard surface defeats the sound dampening.Use r 33 insulation in the ceiling cover with Homosote this is made from recycled paper cover with sturdy material like burlap as far as the walls build a room in a room keep in it away from the walls which will stop the sound from traveling thru the house insulate and follow the same ideas from earlie in the walls.or get egg crate foam..

Put R-33 un-faced fiberglass insulation into the joist cavity. I can be held in place with wire. This is probably the least expensive way. You can purchase this material in 16" widths
