If you want umph, paint a bright loud color like lime green. Adding black and white accents looks awesome. Like a black and white stripe around the entire room. No curtains for the window, just blinds for privacy. The less fabric in a bedroom keeps the room from looking too messed up when your bed is unmade.

Buy a tree (fake) and add twinkly white lights for a romantic look. Use a beautiful chandelier instead of a light fixture. Accent one wall with a darker shade of paint than the rest (in the same color family). Fill a vase with huge flowers that you adore. Buy interesting lamps. Use a throw rug to add color and coziness. Place lots of candles on a mirror on your dresser. Frame favorite photos and place in a collectionn on a dresser. Paper one wall, perhaps the one behind your bed. Use lots of pillows on your bed in different shapes, sizes and textures (all in the same color family). Mix stripes, florals, checks, plaids. Hand sheer gauzy curtains and have them puddle on the floor. Experiment, move furniture on angles and have fun.

What are your colors? What kind of design do you like? Stop in at some store that carry accessories and buy some pillows for your bed, some relaxing pictures(not posters) that you like and some candles. Pull the colors from your bedspread.

push the bed long side on the wall throw some pillows on it.....it would look like one of those diva sofas or a day bed sort of but it would look cute then add some drapes to the wall not on the window but on the wall where the bed is at

It’s a good idea to know what you have before you begun to change things. Gathering samples is a great way to begin. You can start by looking through magazines, and catalogs.

Think of a theme 1st. Something in mind..room should be inviting, warm, not to bright and splashy, it's where you want to go for love, sanctuary, tranquity. Canles work with everything, mirrors...pillows, lots and lots of pillows

You didn't mention any wall paintings or posters. If you do posters or prints - you can frame them to give them a little more classic look. How about some nice baskets for magazines?
