We want to sort stuff in our house, into stuff we want to get rid off and stuff we want to keep. But there's a problem; we also need to redo the floors of our house. What would be the best way to do this? 1) Either get one of those PODs (personal storage units you can keep outside your house) and put everything in there, redo the floors, then sort everything in the POD, or 2) sort everything in the house at the start, THEN put everything in the POD and redo the floors?????????????????????????????????????

Why would you want to move stuff twice - get rid now - you want to store rubbish? Also you will feel a weight lifted as the unwanted stuff will be sorted and out of your hair! Good luck with the re vamp

That depends on how soon you are reflooring the house.

If you want to start reflooring the house ASAP, then put the stuff in the POD and sort it later.

If you want to do the least amount of work. Sort the stuff, mark it, cart off the stuff you want to get rid of (Goodwill, trash, yard sales, etc), then move the stuff you want to keep into the POD. By doing it before you put it in the POD, you know and see where it goes before you cart it out and can better tell if it is truly needed or wanted in that spot. It also reduces the total number of times you move stuff.

Don't waste your time by moving things multiple times. Get the pod - sort stuff as you move it out - do not put the stuff to be given or thrown away in the pod - get rid of it as soon as possible.

Get your floors finished. Then if you sorted at you put stuff into the pod you can move one room back in at a time. Don't get discouraged, what will start out as mountains will quickly become molehills!

before you redo your floors, go through everything and give away or trash what you don't want. That way you'll have less to worry about storing while you do your floors, and you only sort and move once.

Do it like they do on that show on HGTV... Put tarps out on your lawn and catagorize them by

Sell Keep Trash

and then put all your stuff into the corresponding pile and then do with it what the sign says to do.
