The pears on my tree are ripe and starting to fall off. There is so much fruit to deal with at once, I'm not sure what to do. It seems like if we pick the fruit ripe, the flesh goes mealy very soon. But if we pick them green, will they ever ripen? Anyone have a good suggestion? I'd be very grateful.

I know that red and blue make purple, red and yellow make orange, and yellow and blue make green. What color combination makes brown? I had thought that it might be purple and yellow, but purple and yellow are color wheel opposites, so when they are put together, they just make a pasty gray. So, how do you make brown?

The reason I asked this question is because I just recently remodeled a one room school house that was built around 1895 and it had rafters and it obviously didn't have any load bearing walls because it was only one room. The size of the house is 24X36 with 12 foot cielings.

i remember my mom saying that if it foams up it is doing it's job at cleaning the clothes, most detergents nowadays do not foam up as much as they did back then.

My wall has slats with little indentations between them (it's a mobile home). I painted the wall just fine, and then I used a brush which was too wide for the little sort of "gulleys" between the slats. Now I can see the brush marks on either side of the indentations.
I know, I should have used a more expensive brush, and a much narrower brush, so that the edges didn't touch the surrounding wall.
However, here I am now with dried paint and brush marks.
Please advise.

I have a house / garage full of things I've collected over the years. Even papers and old documents that are of no use to me. It's getting to the point where I can't even walk through the place anymore. I'd like to clean it up, but have no idea where or how to start. Can someone help?

I see this bee mostly at night and they like to get up into my porch light. I have looked around the yard and found no nest. One of these bees stung my sister several nights ago for no apparent reason. They make a very loud buzzing sound.

I know with many flowers like mums that if you dead head them, that is pick off the spent blooms and deny the plant from making seeds to reproduce itself that they will send up more blooms to make new seeds. But is it necessary to do it with Canna lilies? I have not dead headed them yet and they just keep pooping more and more flowers. The seeds evenually fall off. I would be thrilled if some of these seeds produced some new plants. Nothing so far. I live in New England so the rhizomes have to be dug up in the fall else they will die with the frost.
