I have a few Silver items that I need to clean coz they tarnished with oxidation. Is there anyway I can clean it without using those metal polish? I have tried Toothpaste ... not bad but still tedious.

I have used ketchup with success. Fill a container with enough to completely cover the bottom. Let silver stand for about 10 min or so. Wipe ketchup off with clean cloth, rinse in cold water and dry immediately. I found this method to be not as tedious as toothpaste. It is the acid in the tomatoes that works to clean the tarnish.
