I have been given and purchased several pieces of Guardian Service Aluminum Cookware. Some of my pieces have pitting and utensil scratches inside of them. Others have years of baked/cooked on grease and goo on the outside. Still others are just dark from who knows what. I'm trying to find the best way to clean and possibly refinish (or remove the majority of the scratching and pitting)on the inside of my pots. I would also like to find the best way to clean the grease and goo from the outside and restore them to there former shiny finish. The outside of my pots are what some people call hammered aluminum finish. I'm not sure how to best describe the outside but it looks like indentions on the surface. I've tried scrubbing with a brass bristle brush and steel wool. It doesn't remove any of the pitting and scratching on the inside and very little of the goo and grease on the outside. The indentions seem to fill up with the grease and goo. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Can you paint over wallpaper? The house that we are looking at buying has ugly wallpaper in every room. I'm not a lazy person, but the kitchen, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and recroom all have ugly wallpaper. It would take forever to remove the wallpaper, so if there is any easy way to paint over it without having to remove it, then I am all for that. We all ready have to put all new floors in, all new windows and doors plus a new heating system, that is going to be a lot of work in it self, so being able to paint over the wallpaper would be really beneficial. Has anyone done this and did it turn out for you?

I'm about to scream... Here's the deal.

I just got my dryer out of storage and put it in our new house. Well, it was spinning, but it refused to blow hot air. In essence, it wasn't drying our clothes. I knew that it was time for a new dryer (this was some 80's piece).

I get the new dryer, hook it up to the wall, and it's doing the SAME THING as the old one! It's not an operator error, because it's assembled correctly!

What could this be? Is there a chance that we just got a defective dryer, or do you think that there's something wrong with the building, or... WHAT?!?!?

HELP! Please!

I am thinking of building a new home using a Don Gardner house plan called "The Laurel'. It is shown on the Don Gardner web site as Plan number W-GOO-270. The plans cost hundreds of dollars though and I don't want to spend that money unless I'm sure that this is the right house plan for me. It's hard to get a good idea from looking at drawings on the internet. Does anyone know where I can see real photos of the inside and outside of this house plan? Or better yet, does anyone know where I can see the real thing? I live in coastal North Carolina.

Thank you for your help !

Our cement driveway has really taken a beating. It has large cracks and it is pitted from salt dripping off of the car in the winter. I've used the rubbery liquid stuff in the cracks and it shrinks and looks worse than ever. Can I do a skim coat of cement over the whole thing? We can't afford to replace it right now.

I recently ordered a jacket off of the internet and when it came, It had a ball point pen mark on it. I really like it and don't want to return it. It says that it is 100% polyester all over. I have tried wiping it with a white cloth, like it says, rubbing alchohal, like my mom suggested, and a product called "Goof Off," none of which had any effect. I don't want to bleach it because it has some green, and it isn't supposed to be washed either. What do I do?

The next door apartment is not kept clean ... so even though we have had them professionally pest controlled ... I understand having a cat will help .... There are places where they can just crawl in due to poor workmanship and there are gaps between the walls which are connected ... I am in the process of filling all holes in the wall ... is there something I can use that doesnt smell thanksThanks

I don't have a dishwasher and I only have a single sink. What I have always done is apply dish detergent to a sponge, pre-rinse and scrub the dishes and rinse them off under running water. I have the hot water running the whole time.

I have quite a large tree in my garden, unfortunatly its roots are appearing above ground level protruding latteraly through my lawn, in one place its even raising a paving slab.
Im concerned as the mower blades catches them, and its starting to look unsightly.
Does anyone have any advise ?
Can they be removed, or would that weaken the root system and endanger the stability of the tree?
Should I concider raising the lawned area to cover the roots, or would they re-amerge again in time?
Any budding horticulturists out there, that can advise me??
Thanks
