I will be moving in the very late fall/early winter. I'm taking most of my outdoor plants with me--roses, lilies, bulbs and other plants. I know how to move my roses and the bulbs, but what is the best substance to pack the lilies in for storage until I can replant them? I'll be staying in the same zone, but the move won't be till after the ground has frozen too much to safely transplant.

My house is REALLY old and my walls are wood (2X4's together to make one wall). The wood was not treated but it is painted. My two year old colored EVERYWHERE and I'm finding the more I try to scrub the crayon off, I've wiping off the paint and just spreading the crayon. I've tried pine sol and other similar cleaners, dish soaps, the "magic" eraser sponge, goof off and goo gone. I even tried WD-40 but it just soaked into the wall. I tried painting over it but it just bled threw. What else can I do without having to primar and re-paint?

I tried a liquid Ortho carpenter ant insecticide that was advertised as "kills on contact" but reading the small print one must deduce that living trees are absent from the ants' menu. Powder insecticides appear to be the researched response. I would appreciate any suggestions re: a brand -name powdered insecticide and its application because the ones in Home Depot seem to have the consistency of baking flour which will "blow in the wind" = please no Ortho products

I'm having the loft insulated and I was scraping the veg. (We grow our own) when the guy came in for his cup of tea. "Do you ever fancy a change?" He said, biting into a Jaffa cake. I dismissed him with "No, I like my husband's carrots". He was quite 'fit' now I think about it- To use my boy's expression. I wonder if these guys try it on at every job they go to?

I have an indoor calla lily at my office and it has grown to about 1 1/2 feet tall. In the last week it has started to droop and the bloom is almost entirely green like the stalk. What is the next step I should take to prolong the existance of my plant? I am not much of a green thumb but would like to know how to make this one work, as it is the only pleasure I get from work.

Something is wrong with the tuner on my Sony Wega. I can't pull in channels w/o fuzz from the cable, but if I go through VCR (putting it on VHS) I get reception fine. Should I try changing the cable or is this within my TV.

I'm talking about those long metal bathroom fixtures found in male public toilets. I'd like to have one in my house when I finally get it, as it's easier than using a conventional toilet.

We (my husband and I) are buying our first home and its perfect. totally renovated. The thing is I don't want white walls, im thinking of changing the walls in the 3 bedrooms. Should i do it with paint or wallpaper, and Im open to any suggestions on colors. Nothing loud though, im leaning toward more neutral colors. we're choosing colors for our bedroom and our two daughters bedrooms age 2 and 9. thanks in advance. also if you have a website that you can direct me to with the color you are suggesting that would be even better...
