I'm originally from Leicester, and I left when I started my course at Keele University, which is near Stoke On Trent. After I graduated I decided to stay on up here as most of my uni friends were still up here too. Most people do not choose to move to Stoke (in fact they prefer to move away!) but I like it here.
One of the great things about Leicester is that it is smack bang in the middle of the country and most of the cities in England are easily accessible. So if you move somewhere reasonably close, and decide you don't like it, it shouldn't be too much of an upheaval to move back again!
If I could live anywhere in this country, I would live in North Yorkshire. I lived there for a while and I really loved it.
Incidentally, I'm from Wigston. What part of Leicester are you from?

I live in Beeston near Nottingham. It's pretty cool, there's shops close by and its a nice area. You can get into town 20mins on the bus. I visited Bedford recently that seemed like a good place if you want to be close to London. My best friend lives in Hove near Brighton. Brighton is cool! If you fancy a bit of bohemian culture move there.
