I'm about to scream... Here's the deal.
I just got my dryer out of storage and put it in our new house. Well, it was spinning, but it refused to blow hot air. In essence, it wasn't drying our clothes. I knew that it was time for a new dryer (this was some 80's piece).
I get the new dryer, hook it up to the wall, and it's doing the SAME THING as the old one! It's not an operator error, because it's assembled correctly!
What could this be? Is there a chance that we just got a defective dryer, or do you think that there's something wrong with the building, or... WHAT?!?!?
HELP! Please!

By the way, we don't have gas out here. It's all electric. Thanks, anyways, though.

Well pepperkitty i am going to take a stab at this. I would first find the circuit breaker that goes to the dryer. It may be a double pull breaker. I would turn it off then turn it back on again. The only guess I can make is that one leg of your 220 is not working. I am only guessing but you could only have power to one side of your dryer. One may control the settings and the tumbler and the other may go to your heating element. To have this happen on two different dryers I would be checking to make sure that both legs of your 220 outlet are working. Hope this helps.

Check the settings you have it on - some have a "cool dry" setting that just blows air through without heating it... people use it for heat sensitive stuff... or to just fluff pillows.
Other than that... get a friend over to give you a different view. You may be deaf on the frequency that the dryer sounds as it's drying, or you may be one of the few that can't feel heat.
After that... return it and get a new one.
Sounds like a run of bad luck.
And you might want to think about getting a clothes line... nature's the best fabric softener you'll ever smell.

um, if it's a gas dryer and there's no gas hookup...then you are spinning a drum with electric and little else. usually the newer electric dryers require you to buy a plug with them and wire it correctly. 220 v three phase. if theres only three wires there probably should be four two hot a common and a ground.

Did you turn the valve that controls the gas into the on position? Did you even connect this hose? Gas is what is used to heat up the dryer.
If all is connected and the valve is on, call your gas company and ask them to come and take a look.

Check on the back of it for a reset button. Mine sometimes overheats if I've been drying a lot of clothes; and trips out the heating element; so I have to press the reset button. It might be that the button on yours was accidentally knocked in transit, or when you installed it. Other than that, I can't help you.

Most electric driers require a 220 volt outlet. Perchance did you plug it into regular 110 house current.

Well , sounds like your vent or vent hose is stoped up or blocked some how . make sure its free from lint ,bird nest ,rat nest etc...from where it hooks up to the dryer to where it vents outside.
bet that'll do it.
