I was wondering what and how it works. It seems where the water level would be, would determine from a nice day to a stormy day.

I want to be able to grow grass up to the trees so it won't die out and also prepare a garden between the trees. I'm new to working a yard and I need help.

The 20 ft tree is still alive, but the leafing is frighteningly pitiful. A second Magnolia tree in the yard (30 ft, same age), is spectacular. Last year the Magnolia in question was fine. This winter was quite mild. A dry winter, but a very wet and mild Spring. In general all other growth was ahead of usual schedule. I'll definately give it another year, but am very concerned. Any suggestions? Barry

I'm not sure if these gnat-like things are fruit flies or drain flies, but they are driving me nuts. I've cleaned, cleaned, and cleaned more. I've even put ammonia, ice, and baking soda down the drain. What else should I do?

I have a vegetable garden and I keep finding yellowish green caterpillars in my parsley. Are these gypsy moths?

Also, I have many ladybugs hanging out on my cucumbers and lettuce - will they harm them? Or do they just eat aphids?

I looked at a few pesticides at the store, but I am not sure about putting them on my vegetation - any ideas?

I dumped the 2-cycle oil gas mix from the gas tank of the push mower. Changed spark plug. Cleaned air filter. Still will not run. What now? For some reason, if pump the safety release handle, it will run for about 3 minutes, if I keep pumping the handle. Then it dies. Did the 2-cycle oil gas mix clog up the carburator? Or is pumping the safety release handle indicating some other problem?

The many shade trees, magnolia and pine, are producing so many leaves that the lack of sunlight has killed most of the grass near the house....Without cutting the trees down(too big,too old) is there anything else that I can do to keep the ground next to the house from staying so damp all year round?????? Many Thanks to all!
