Every time I have had to move, I go to Payless ShoeSource. They get loads of boxes full of shoes every week. They flatten the boxes and throw them out. Every time I have asked, they have been very nice and given me all I could ever need. They have certain days of the week they get their shipments, so they may tell you that they can give them to you on the day after the shipment, but they usually will save them for you instead of tossing them out.

Call your local, and not so local, moving companies. They will sometimes have a ton of boxes to get rid of, when they have an unpack job, and the people they just moved in want to get rid of the boxes. Some companies have reduced price boxes that are used, have beeen broken down and flattened, and are as good as new, for a very reasonable price. Last, you can ask where people have recently moved in, and ask those people for their boxes. Motto: If you don't ask, you don't get. Rejection is just part of the percentage of success, like a batting average. Play it like a game---1/3 equals a 333 batting av.

Good luck.

Go to local grocery stores and retail stores. Just ask produce if they have any boxes in the back. Usually they are more then willing to give them away.

I work for a furniture store, and if you're looking for nice size boxes, call one in your area and ask them if they could save some for you. If it's small to medium boxes, Hallmark ALWAYS seems to have them.
