I was wondering what and how it works. It seems where the water level would be, would determine from a nice day to a stormy day.

It's a type of barometer. You place a solution of coloured water in the pitcher, leaving a space at the sealed, belly, part. As the barometric pressure changes, the water will rise and fall up the spout part.

I guess you meant plaque. Anyway, sounds like a play on a rain meter. However many inches of rain in it, that's how much rain we got. I can't really tell without looking at it. Kind of like, if its wet, it's raining, if its moving, it's windy, if it's white, it's snowing...etc. ????? Otherwise, I have no idea. LOL...grammaluvsu
