Rust takes a rest when the sun is shining and there is no more wet. With no metal or water to aid it, the iron oxide of rust stays sedated. A little rhyme for you time, and remember to keep all your important metals dry. May the rust sleep in peace.

Good answers al.
Actually in a sense it does sleep. Example: After the rust has completely dissolved the Chevy, or even as it is eating it up, the rust falls to the ground perhaps, in that case. It then becomes part of the soil, from which it was originally derived, and sleeps until it becomes useful again.
