UNLIKELY !!!
If you really need a gas grill, it would be more practical to buy a gas grill.

Why don't you just go and buy a gas grill if that is what you want . A charcoal grill is just that and a gas grill is more like a stove
It probbaly would be less expensive to go buy a new grill than to try to convert the old one

charcoal and wood. The flavor is way better than gas and I smoke lots of meats (true BBQ) low and slow. Ive cooked for years in restaurants all over the US and Ive cooked over only 5 wood fired grills. all the rest were gas. The flavor improvement of wood over gas is more than 10 fold. gas may be easy but charcoal or wood has the flavor and makes all the difference. I love grilling all foods but pineapple and mango are my favorites to grill I love smoking pork butts for pulled pork and ribs too. But any food on a grill is better than on the stove top.

yes you could but you would spend about as much to modify it as you would if you went out and spent the money on a gas grill to begin with , then there is the little problem that you are going to have with the space left after you modify it and why would you want to use lava rocks they went out in the 70's lava rocks hold all that nasty bacteria in between uses thats why all the current gas grills have flavorizor bars
