Women's Health - October 2007

Okay, I'll start from the begining. My partner and I have been trying to have a baby for the past couple of months and so far it hasn't worked, I have just gotten my periods every time. We had sex last friday, 5th October.

I thought i would get my periods again and when I woke up this morning I went to the toilet and noticed a tiny amount of brown discharge on the toilet paper. I am not sure what that means.

I have been researching all day and reading websites about spotting and all of that, but I am not sure of what Spotting actually is, I know people get it when they are miscarraging, but I wasnt aware you could get it before your periods.

Anyways, this is probably confussing to you so I will just write my questions in point form:

1) What is spotting and when can you get it?
2) What is this brown discharge that I am getting instead of my periods?
3) Could you get pregnant and still have your periods?

If anybody could help me, that would be great!

I'm 30 years old and I wear a 40DD bra. I really don't think that is my true size, but it does fit ok. I'm not a big person. I wear 11/12 in pants, size 5/6 in underwear, so my breasts are really too big for the rest of my body. I get the rashes underneath, the shoulder scars and the back pain, etc. I have been considering breast reduction surgery for years now. Large breast run in my family. My sister has had the surgery. I would like to hear of any personal experiences, good, bad and ugly.

This is really weird. im only 14, still a virgin and i noticed two skin like things coming out of my vagina. they dont hurt or anything. Ive been looking online to see what it could be but i havent gotten anything. please help, no dumb answers, im pretty concerned.

when i walk my hips pop.
this happens all the time, it never stops.
you can't here them pop but if you can feel it if you put your hands on my hips.
it rarely hurts but sometimes if i wear tight jeans or something i can feel it more and it starts to hurt.
why does it do this?
is it bad?
please help.

Embarrassing topic!
Just back from a holiday abroad, its either one extreme or the other with my bowels.
I've tried fruit, dried fruit and fibre and orange juice! but still not managed to go after 4 days. need a quick reliable fix (laxative) that will guarenteed to clear things,

Hi,

Four days after my DPT (diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus) vaccination, I have a very painful swollen lymph node sitting just above my R) clavicle.

I'm pretty sure it's from the vaccine, because I haven't been sick.

It's about an inch in length and quite noticeable (maybe I'm just being paranoid).

The swollen lymph is not red or itchy..its just VERY sore & tender. Its really annoying..erghh..it's making me really irritable (then again could be PMS haha). Its 'move-able' when I press it.

I've done some research on-line & apparently swollen lymph nodes could be one of many side effects from the vaccine. And all of a sudden when typing this, I feel quite feverish. I've just taken some paracetamol.

I'm a nursing student so it was compulsory for me to have this vaccination before I go out out on 'practicums'.

Just want to know whether anyone else has had experience something like this? and what happened etc..

The vaccination was called 'boostrix'.

Hundred of commercials for breast cancer, uterus cancer, polycystic fibrosis, and even more for birth control. Charities for women who have cancer and heart disease..but where is the support for the women who can't have kids ever and are permanently infertile? where is the celebrity championing these women? Where is the United support nationally for these women who often hide in shame and are humiliated or embarrassed by their infertility? Why do they not have a day or a ribbon honoring them for the bravery of dealing with IVF. thanks -

I don't know what to do. We aren't having sex, just oral/ digital sex. But he just doesn't like it. I keep myself clean and odor free, nicely shaven, how he says he likes it. But whenever we get sexual uses hardly any clitoral stimulation. I have tried to explain to him, but he says it is hard for him to do "the other stuff" not only that but he rarely if ever performs oral sex on me. However everytime we do get sexual, I always give him oral, and he doesn't properly take care of himself "down there" which can make it very unpleasant, but I still do it, because I know how much he enjoys it.
Anyways this is really getting to me and it is making me really insecure about my "girl parts".

Please don't even bother to respond to this if you are going to be a jerk, because this is a real question, and I know it really is an easy target.

Someone please help me.

I drink water every day and apply lotions, but nothing seems to fix my dryness. I think its an internal thing where I may be lacking something..

So this month and last month my period was only 2 days long and very light. I got it this month...very very light for 2 days..then a week went by of nothing..then BAM...light bleeding again. My regular cycles are about 1 week long and very heavy. I am not on birth control. Then it got a little heavier but nothing extreme....I have noticed on my tampons that the blood is extremley dark like almost black. I am not pregnant, the dr took a blood and urine test 2 weeks ago. What could be going on?

I just got my clitorus pierced, approximately a month ago, and this morning with no warning whatsover, it was severely swollen. It happened over night and is itchy, and quite painful. Any thoughts on what may have caused this?

I was thinking of going to see the doc because i have symptoms such as, period pain, pain when urinating (especially when I have a period) and painful bowel movements(also with a period) I went when I was 16 and the gyno said I probably had a hormone problem which might clear up when i turn 18.Well, Im 18 now and they still havent cleared up. Im not sure if I should go back to see him- I dont want to waste everyones time again.

How many Jr. Tylonol *spelling sorry* can you take to O.D.?
because I can't swallow Advil so I take the kid tylonol...and my weight is about 85lbs...and I don't want to take to much and I dont know what the box says...*lost the box* and i usualy take 2...but I dont know if that's too little or too much...im confused.

I have had extremely sore breasts for over a month now.. It started about 2 weeks before my last period.. My period was 6 days late but it ended on 9/24, it only lasted for 3 days... I thought that the breast soreness was because of my period and they are still soooo sore... I have also had occasional cramping too... I thought that i could be pregnant, i took a few tests and they all said negative,

You know, I'm really getting tired of doctors lying to me. I just got the Mirena IUD about 3 weeks ago. The doctor told me my husband wouldn't feel the strings, and he does. I also told the doctor that I had a bad experience with the progesterone only minipill where I didn't stop bleeding (filled a pad a day) for 3 months. I had to go off of it for this reason because I was getting dizzy and became anemic. He told me it would be fine, this was "different." Well, it's been 3 weeks and I'm still bleeding consistently. I would not call this spotting as I have to wear a pad.

I'm concerned this is going to be like the minipill again. To add insult to injury, my husband won't have sex with me when I'm bleeding. I washed myself out one night about a week after I got it, and when he felt the string poking him and pulled a way there was a little blood on him, and now he won't even risk having sex with me. He's not a bad guy, and I don't blame him. My sex life has become crap! Help?
