Hundred of commercials for breast cancer, uterus cancer, polycystic fibrosis, and even more for birth control. Charities for women who have cancer and heart disease..but where is the support for the women who can't have kids ever and are permanently infertile? where is the celebrity championing these women? Where is the United support nationally for these women who often hide in shame and are humiliated or embarrassed by their infertility? Why do they not have a day or a ribbon honoring them for the bravery of dealing with IVF. thanks -

Not trying to offend anyone having other serious conditions but just want to let people know its not as simple as they think it is to deal with infertility.......people say atleast its not life threatening but you know it makes life hell.....

I have PCOS n I have seen many people who deal with infertility and read their stories on net who die to have children and go through daily heart aches.......I have seen women who got pregnant but lost their babies 'cuz of miscarriage or if they were premature n could not conceive ever again........

I have seen 'wonderful' couples who desperately want children
and after trying everything, they now want to adopt, but cuz of some wierd reasons are not allowed to, then they are literally left with NO hope.....but still they have to go on and on facing everything with so much courage.....It is an ordeal really, constant emotional torture day after day, cycle after cycle, years after years....... I know what you mean......
And the thing is you are true many such women shy away but they really really need support. They have to get embarassed at various situations...
If the world is much more aware about such conditions or if there are atleast some support groups, it becomes much easier really....
I was completely lost before I found this support group after days of depression just because of non-awareness I felt completely alone to myself with no one to understand my issues. Its http://www.pcosworldwidesupport.com/PCOS.html
But now I no longer feel that much alone, though i still don't know anyone like me in my area, but its quite tolerable. I haven't even started to ttc but yet I can understand what these women go through. Sometimes they are even mistreated by their husbands n in-laws.....

Well, seriously I guess only the women/couples going through this can only really understand this emotionally draining journey........ I wish people were more open and aware about it.....

Being infertile doesn't kill a woman or put her in harms way for future cancer, unwanted pregnancy, or heart disease. That is most likely why there isn't any support from celebrities to raise money or awareness. The nation assumes their are other means for those women if they want children. There are adoption options and there is always foster care. And of course there is always the fertility clinics that are outrageously priced for women who are not fertile. The mind set is being infertile is not a life threatening situation so the government certainly isn't going to make people aware of it nor give any money for it.
Maybe you should start a support group or have a fund raiser . You could start with Yahoo Groups and see what you can do from there.
I am sorry for your loss, for I know it must be heart breaking.
God Bless and get that group started, you may be able to help someone else along the way.

Infertility doesn't kill, whereas cancer and heart disease does. Cancer and heart disease also effects a lot more women. Besides, once a woman is permanently infertile what is it that a huge national support group is supposed to do?

it extremely is a sin...The BIble is loaded with the infertile. i'm unable to have faith you have neither study the OT (Rachel, Hannah) or the NT (Elizabeth)...yet good day at the instant...it could ensue. be careful getting fundamentalist and dogmatic like that -- esp sinice you look sick-disposed to do any study. And, have you ever not observed that the Church has been blessing the marriages of outdated human beings for the reason that its inception. have you ever by no skill popular a woman over 50 to be married in a Catholic Church. it extremely is spectacular. you may get out extra :)

Its not that their unsupported? But quite honestly, coping with having cancer is a dam sight worse than coping with not being able to have children, not having kids isnt going to kill you slowly and painfully, so I dont think you can compare it. As for being brave for having IVF, thats their choice, there are plenty of kids who need adopting.

because they aren't dying

if you can't have children you shouldn't have children. there are too many people already. we need to reduce population before nature does it for us.
adopt. there are millions of kids without parents.
