Okay, I'll start from the begining. My partner and I have been trying to have a baby for the past couple of months and so far it hasn't worked, I have just gotten my periods every time. We had sex last friday, 5th October.

I thought i would get my periods again and when I woke up this morning I went to the toilet and noticed a tiny amount of brown discharge on the toilet paper. I am not sure what that means.

I have been researching all day and reading websites about spotting and all of that, but I am not sure of what Spotting actually is, I know people get it when they are miscarraging, but I wasnt aware you could get it before your periods.

Anyways, this is probably confussing to you so I will just write my questions in point form:

1) What is spotting and when can you get it?
2) What is this brown discharge that I am getting instead of my periods?
3) Could you get pregnant and still have your periods?

If anybody could help me, that would be great!

1: "Spotting Blood/Brown Discharge: This may occur when you are ovulating/mid-cycle. Sometimes early in pregnancy you may have spotting or a brownish discharge at the time your period would normally come. If you have spotting at the time of your normal period rather than your usual amount of flow, and you have had sex without using birth control, you should check a pregnancy test."

2. Most women get brown discharge at the beginning (or end)of their periods. It's just old blood that was leftover from your pervious cycle.

3. It is possible to be pregnant and still have a period. Some women have periods throughout their entire pregnancy.

It might be too soon to take a pregnancy test. (Although, it certaintly wouldn't hurt you if you did)

You can spot at any time during any day of the month and during a pregnancy and during a miscarriage. The womens body adjusts to so many thing so it may be serious or it may not. Spotting is generally just a little drop of blood normally found in your panties or when you wipe.

The Brown Discharge may very well be spotting or may be your body releasing the inner uteran wall due to either it being used to starting and now it is not, pregnancy, infection...or so many other things.

Yes plenty of women have their period through out their pregnancy although it is not too common. I

If you are trying to get pregnant the best thing is talk to your dr. about your best ovulation days and ways that you can tell if you are ovulating. Also, run across him the brown discharge and see what he thinks. All you can do is ask questions and f you ar going to get pregnant you have to be sure you are taking care of yourself correctly.

Spotting is just a little bit of blood coming out infrequently and you can get it between periods or during pregnancy if something is wrong. Don't get alarmed but do see a Dr.

Brown discharge is dried blood.

I guess anything is possible but usually your body will let you know if you are pregnant.
Tender breasts
Frequent Urination
Nausea
some people get light headed
hormones change so mood swings

Im not really sure on how to answer this question but I too have been trying to have a baby with my partner and it hasnt been working either but I havent had this brown discharge ever. I just googled it for you and there really wasn't much information on it about that type of stuff. Maybe you should go see a doctor get his opinion and do a pregnancy test.

You might actually be pregnant this time. Sometimes that happens. But, you will only know for sure if you take a pregnancy test.
