I drink water every day and apply lotions, but nothing seems to fix my dryness. I think its an internal thing where I may be lacking something..

Any suggestions on what vitamins may assist ??

Anything that is high in vitamin E. Try getting a supplement of either vitamin E, Flax-seed Oil, or Fish oi. Also, your skin condition, just like the rest of your body, depends on what you put in it. Diets high in citrus fruits and water are good, but eat healthy all around.

Vitamins A, C, and E are the best combination for beautiful skin. You can often find them all combined in one tablet or you can buy them individually. The daily amounts you want are Vit A = 10,000 - 15,000 IU; Vit C = 3,000 - 6,000 mg; Vit E = 400 - 800 IU.

It would probably also be helpful to take a daily multi-vitamin.

Dry skin problems respond well to self-care measures, such as using moisturizers and avoiding long, hot showers and baths. If you have very dry and scaly skin, your doctor may recommend you use an over-the-counter cream that contains lactic acid or lactic acid and urea.

In a more serious skin disease, such as ichthyosis or psoriasis, your doctor may prescribe prescription creams and ointments or other treatments in addition to home care.

Dry skin leads to dermatitis, which causes red, itchy skin. In these cases, treatment may include hydrocortisone-containing lotions. If your skin cracks open, your doctor may prescribe wet dressings with mildly astringent properties to contract your skin and reduce secretions and prevent infection.
