This may very well be an infection but don't let all these answers scare you. I am a married woman and just had a baby 2 months ago. Since I was being seen by a doctor I know I have no infections or STD's. Let me explain to you what I learned in medical school and also find true in my own life.
Both men and women release fluids when they orgasm. The individual fluids themselves don't really have an odor. However when the two fluids mix they react chemically and produce the odor you are describing. This is normal and natural. Unless you have this odor when you have not been sexually active I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Let's admit it.. women don't always have the best smell down there. It's normal. But if you're concerned, then ask your doctor. You can give a urine sample to see if there's an infection. If the test comes back positive, you'll be put on meds to clear up the infection. If everything is normal, then just take a good shower before intercourse and clean real good down there to ensure the smell isn't there.

Good that you go to your doctor. A fishy odor can signal that a STD might be present, most likely Trich. It is treatable, and if that is what it is, your husband will need to be treated as well. So go talk to your doctor so he can test you, and if necessary treat you and your husband too! There are other STD's that can give you a fishy odor, but usually it's not just from a yeast infection, which is something you can treat yourself for with Monistat. It is something you can and should discuss with your doctor.
Trichomoniasis, or trich, usually causes a discharge and a fishy odor from the vagina. In men, it is usually unrecognized, although rarely it can cause urinary infection. The organism is transmitted through vaginal sex. Although the disease doesn't cause serious health problems, trichomoniasis can increase the chances of getting HIV.

Bacterial Vaginosis (BV)- is an infection caused when too much of a certain bacteria change the normal balance of bacteria in the vagina.
Having a new sex partner or multiple sex partners and douching can upset the balance of bacteria in the vagina and put women at increased risk for getting BV.
It's unknown how sex contributes to BV. BV is not considered an STD, but having BV can increase your chance of getting an STD. BV may also affect women who have never had sex.
Many women with BV do not have symptoms. If you have symptoms, you may notice a thin white or gray vaginal discharge, odor, pain, itching, or burning in the vagina. Some women have a strong fish-like odor, especially after sex. You may also have burning when urinating, itching around the outside of the vagina, or both.
BV can be cured. A health care provider can treat BV with antibiotics called Metronidazole 500mg and take 1 tablet by mouth twice daily (every 12 hours) for 7 days.

Some people post in the Men's section that their guy's c um has a smell like that, so that's something else to consider. But if it's from you then it could be your natural discharge smell stronger, or an infection, your doctor might know.

Women, just face head on than blame it on men's *** mixing. Even when we use condoms some women smell fishy ughh. It's so disgusting that it made me puke and loose interest in sex all together.

Be sure to tell your obgyn and ask to be tested. I forget what the infection is called. I read about it in a magazine and spoke with my doctor about it and the results were positive. You'll have to take a pill for several days that makes food taste metallic but it clears up the infection. Good luck.
