..... I had two kids in my late thirties. I have missed three periods so assume I may be peri-menopausal, however I cannot risk pregnancy (though it would be unlikely). I have not taken the combined pill before but wondered if it may be an alternative to the likes of HRT (for the time being) which seems to have greater health risks attached. I don't smoke, I'm not overweight, my general health is good.

I have been having some bleeding between my periods for a couple of months. I saw my gynaec who did a physical exam and said that I have an ulcer in my cervix, which had a blue spot. She said that it could be due to endometeriosis. She asked me to get a scan done at another doctor's place as she was going abroad for 3 months. I went to the other doctor and had the scan done. He said that I have a 'haemorrhagic cyst' and asked me to leave it alone for the time being and have another ultrasound after 2 or 3 menstrual cycles. I am somehow not too comfortable with this new doctor, so could not discuss everything with him. Could you please tell me whether haemorrhagic cyst and chocolate cyst are one and the same? Do my symptoms indicate endometriosis? Can the ultrasound differentiate between the two?
I am worried because I am all alone with a 3 year old son and have no one for support if things my condition worsens.
If any of you answering my question is a doctor, please let me know.

For the past several years, I have been bleeding (like a period) non-stop. Occasionally it would stop for a few days, but then it would start right back up again. The puzzling thing is that I NEVER have ANY pain, any cramps, or any discomfort what-so-ever!! I have been to more doctors than I can count on both hands and they are stumped! I have been told so many things I cant even remember them all!!
Please help!!! I'll take any advice!!!

I was diagnosed offically with ovarian cysts on monday. I will be 26 in May. When I was about 18 I was put on metformin and shortly after birth control. I was never informed the full reason why i was taking these meds. What I was told though made sence at the time. I was told that I had high insulin and the metformin would help that. The male pattern hair growth was directly a result of the high levels of insulin over stimulating the hormones and caused them to keep producing in overtime. Now I find that in reality I was hypoglycemic with insulin levels reaching 5x too high. And weather I actually had it then or not they found the string of pearls on my ovaries last month in an ultrasound. I was taking 5 metformin/day. I may be mistaken but I believe they were 500mg each. I had to take another medication because not only was it lowering my insulin like we wanted, it was lowering my already low sugar levels and making me feel sick regularly. I stopped all 3 meds to control by diet alone

My wife and I have been happily married for a few years. During her pregnancy we didn't have sex after the first month, and then for almost five months after our son was born. Being sympathetic with what she was going through, didn't press the issue during the pregnancy, but a couple months after he was born I began to bring it up. She had some pain associated with the c-section, and didn't feel comfortable with her body, so I was willing to wait a while longer. Finally, after a year of celebacy, we had sex a few times, but she had pain and some bleeding. She's been to a doctor, who's been unable to find a cause, and it's not lack of lubrication. Now it's been a month and a half. I don't want to hurt her or be unreasonable, but she's not willing to give oral (size and gag reflex, she says) and if she wanted it and it was painful for me, I would do it for her. I feel like my needs are being ignored., and wondering if this is not a reason but an excuse. Am I being unreasonable?

So I've had my period for only three days now, but the PMS has been going on for almost two weeks now. I'm crying at the drop of a dime; headaches and backaches constant while my uterus feels like it's being used as a punching bag! AH! Are there any other females out there that are having a hard time with PMS?
