Women's Health - February 2007

Okay so like in the past week there have been like at least 4 questions regarding women asking about their periods and i am just curious as to why they document them so carefully these days? I mean like they know the change in them day to day..like how heavy and the color of the blood etc...and then this ovulation thing..what in the world is that all about?! they are like i ovulated on this day and that...and then they go into detail about what day they took their "BC" pill. Lord knows they cannot say straight up birth control. AND YES THIS IS A QUESTION SO DON'T GO TURNING ME IN SAYING "NOT A QUESTION OR AN ANSWER". seriously is this about getting pregnant or are people seriously having period problems??? please someone explain this phenomenon to me. I had a hysterectomy and i am completely lost not to mention i need to know for my daughter i am raising in all this. If someone can inform me intelligently YES I GIVE BEST ANSWER!

I usually feel a little sick before my period, and when I get it I feel really sore in my lower abdomen, like someone's punching me over and over.
I am unusually heavy, maternity X 2 on my first day of the week, and my mum is thinking of getting me to see a doctor.

One, Any ideas on what it is and
Two, any tips for this kind of doctor if it's different. I've never been to a doctor for that reason. [obviously.]
P.S. I have never had sex or any children.

I have hemorrhoid since i gave birth my child (5 years) .At first the pain was different .Now its realy bothering me when i go to bathroom i have horrible pain and after 1 or 2 houre it gets better until tomorrow when i want go again to washroom and some times for no reasen its bleeding especially when i sit at toilet i see bright and red blood.I realy dont know what should i do.I went several time to doctor she said its hemorrihoid but i still think maybe its anal fissure.Does any body has this experience .Is it hemorrhoid or something else. Thankyou

Up until late 2004 my uterus was normal. Then I started having irregular periods, I think I miscarried and some pregnancy symptoms didn't immediately disappear, I went to see a radiologist a few months later, he said I had functional cyst and referred me to a gynaecologist, the doctor did a thorought test and repeat scan and found my uterus perfectly normal, my periods stabilised and for some seven months didn't have sex. Then I started having sex again, the last time my period was late by a cycle, and like the last time I started spotting when it returned. I decided it will get back to normal on its own... but when I had a bout of severe back pain I got worried and went to see a doctor (a different one.... he sent me for scanning and the result; "2.7cm x 2cm single fibroid, no fluid aroud the pouch of Douglas." What is the meaning of this - Why did he mention this pouch of douglas? Can the fibroid go away the way the cyst went away or could there have been an error here?

I have pcos. i lost my health insurance when my hubby got out of the army he has only been at his new job a short while. enrollment for insurance hasnt started yet. I have been having my menstral cycle since jan 22. i finally gave in and have a doc appt. for 3/6. im worried though i been very tired and get random belly pains. i had kidney stone surgery twice in dec. skipped my cycle. then had a stent placed in dec and removed in feb. had pg test was neg. what could this be? what long term damage might it cause. really worried. going to the doc soon but need some comfort in the mean time. Thanks.

Not sure what is going on, but in the last year or so, whenever I wear a bra I get a lump on the underside of my breast. Never any other time, unless I've worn a bra, which I why i stay around the house bra-less most of the time. Now, either breast will get one, now both breast have one this time. One breast has a bigger one than the other. They grow quite large width wise, hard in the center, very red, hot, and sometimes painful if touched. While this happens quite often lately, I got them recently (like yesterday) and today the one on the left breast has two streaks, one coming up from each side of the lump. Any ideas? My neighbor says it's a boil and she gets them all the time. If this is so, is there any way to prevent them? Thank you so much in advance for any advice.

I am seeing a surgeon about getting some work done om my breasts. I found out that if your youngest child is one but no older than seven, you may be entitled to get your breasts lifted etc. under Medicare. Has anyone done this and can you tell me about it.
