That's true. Time goes by quick when you sleep. A little blood seems like a lot overnight. Conversely if you are active during the day you are probably changing your protection before it gets to that overnight point. Because of this it may seem like more blood at night when you don't necessarily change your protection as often.

You most likely have so much blood in the morning because you have been sleeping all night without changing your pad or tampon. I personally have extremely heavy periods and I have to wear both a pad and a tampon at night or else I leak onto my bed. I even have to do this in the day bec of how heavy my flow is. I pretty much have to change every hour or 2. Hear is an idea, at night, wear a tampon and a long pad. See if that helps lessen the mess of the morning.

When the period first starts it's really heavy.
I bleed really heavy when I first start, but then by the third or fourth day of my period, the blood has lessened, and by the fifth day, it has stopped. I have normal periods that happens every 28 days.
Perhaps you are bleeding too heavily? Perhaps you are anemic? Maybe you could go ask your doctor if you are bleeding too much, and if you are then you need to eat more iron and protein so you don't get anemic.
Cheers and *hugs*

Because you were laying down all night and it stayed inside of you. When you stand up in the morning, gravity takes over. I know that sounds gross, but it's true.

I tend to find I bleed more durring the day then at night. Try sleeping on your side. It's gonna be different for everybody, you just have to learn how to get your body to cope with it a bit better. Like I said, try sleeping on your side, see what happens....

When you are awake you are changing your tampon or pad regularly - a number of times in the day. When you are asleep you have 8 hours or more of having not changed it as you have been asleep.

You can hold it back like when you're awake. But when your asleep it just flows out. I agree with the gravity answer too.
