i had the rod put in 1 1/2 years ago. we are concidering another baby but not ready yet. i am 34 but now i am getting periods again but they can last upto a month. is it the rod causing this or my body as all the women on my moms side had to have histroectomys at my age due to their periods. and i dont know if i should have it removed now before i lose the chance of having another baby

I've had the rod twice now. The first time after I had my oldest son and I had no period for 2 years until I had it taken out (We were trying for another baby) I had another one after I had my second son and for the first 6 months it was the same, then I started 'spotting' all the time. In the end, I had it taken out and went on the pill.

I think, due to your family's history, you really need to go and talk to your doctor though, They will be able to give you advice on what to do.

Go and see him/her, if only to give yourself peace of mind.

I would get it taken out. You might regret it if you don't.
