The morning after pill is NOT meant to kill unborn children. It is meant to evacuate the egg that could be fertilized. That's why you have to take it within 48 hrs. Sperm can live for up to 72 hours after sex. This gives them 3 days to fertilize an egg.

The Morning After pill gets rid of that egg before it has a chance to attach to the uterine wall and become a fetus.

DO NOT TAKE IT IF YOU THINK YOU COULD ALREADY BE PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The effects on an unborn child are widely unknown at this point. If you think you are already pregnant, do not use it.

Otherwise... IT IS PERFECTLY SAFE.

You take the morning after pill no later than 4 days after you have unprotected sex. During that time, a foetus cannot develop. There is no 'unborn child' to affect.
If you were already pregnant, your pharmacist would not let you take the morning after pill.
It is completely safe, provided you follow the directions your pharmacist gives you.

emergency contraception (ec) also known as the morning after pill won't hurt an unborn child if ever prengnancy occurs. it works if taken within 72 hours after unprotected sex or birth control failure. it is not used to abort a child, but prevents the sperm to fertilize the egg. that's why it's called "contraception".
see this site for information about ec & all you need to know about it. http://ec.princeton.edu

Why would you take the morning after pill if you were pregnant?

You take it after the night of unprotected sex so you don't get pregnant.....

its safe for you but the point is to make you abort, you have to take it within the 48 hrs or so after sex, so you shouldnt be any more pregnant than 48 hrs max, the point is to keep the baby from implanting. its just a cluster of cells at that point.
