So I'm on day 4 of my cold from hell and it's preventing me from smoking or else I'll cough up my fifth lung. How the hell can you people live without nicotine? I've totally forgotten how boring life is without nicotine. So....how can you people do this?

(Hint: some former smokers can help me out greatly here.)

I see Tartrazine in a lot of candies. I've been told, it's really bad for you. Is there concrete evidence that it is bad? If so what are the health problems associated with it? And if it is bad, why is it in our foods?

for some reason...this might sound nasty, but whenever i eat a lot of beans and rice and cheese and fart a lot afterwards, my acne starts clearing up.
it's nasty sounding, but when i'm alone, it's fine.
anyone else notice this??????

I can't breath, i have a sore throat, and i drop in and out of fevers...what i mainly wanna figure out right now is what over the counter medicine will drain out all this mucus in my head....because i am SOOOO miserable right now. My mom keeps givin me stuff that "drys" it out and makes it stop for a few hours but NO, i cant do this anymore

so please if you kno any medicine that would help me answer...

and after i cant think normal again i'll deal with the other stuff

I was admitted to the ER last September because I was compacted up to my ribcage. I haven't been doing too bad lately, but now it's been probably a week since I have had a bowel movement, and I'm in pain right now even after taking colace the last 3 days. I don't have insurance so I'm hoping to take care of this problem without getting doctors involved. Are there foods that any of you recommend, other than prunes?

Hey All, only recently after eating chocolate I get an instant headache, its pretty strong and last until I take something for it...never use to happen, anyone know why??

Please dont tell me I have to give up chocolate hahaha...

I am 14 years old and I have this knee pain. And its really starting to hurt bad. I don't like complaining to my mom cause shes an NP so can you tell me what you think?

Does anyone know what it is?

Here are some symptoms.
Knee hurts :P
Feels like i'm getting little pinches on my muscles.
Hurts to bend
Hurts more to walk down stairs
When locked and foot is pointing outward, pain goes away.

Also, i havent played a sport since Winter break, but the sport i played, was swimming.

The fact that they don't even care. You go out of your friggin way to get to a walk in clinic because you feel like crap, you get there and have to wait forever to see a doctor (like they're the pope or something) and when you finally get in there they kind of brush you off and fill a prescription that really doesn't make sense to you because they didn't even listen to your symptons. Then when you tell them you missed work they start over reacting and saying they can't issue time off because they don't know you? but they can prescribe you medication? The fact of the matter is I was sick and I wasn't looking for time off I was looking for help and the doctor just rushed me along. And then when I went to leave they asked me to pay
15$ just for a lousy letter. GEEZ!
ANYONE ELSE HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY? I WANT TO HEAR IT!

im only 15 years old but when i wake up in the morning, my wrists hurt if i move them side to side, and my knuckles hurt after i write for like 5 minutes. my knee starts to hurt sometimes and my ankle and foot hurt as well sometimes. my mother's two cousins had juvinille rheumatory arthritis [please excuse my terrible spelling] when they were only 13. do you think i should see a doctor about this?

im scared cause when i eat fatty foods i gain weight really easily but how many carbs should i be eating in the day during a low carb diet? whats the lowest and highest amount of carbs? is there any sites that i can check how many carbs in the foods i'll be eating? how much fat should i be eating ? any help thanks

im 34 and in the past year iv had 3 yeast infectoins. is it my age or is this normal? when i hit my 20s i got 1 once a year,but its gotten worse. any ideas on how to get rid of it besides creams and medicated douches? and no im not sexually active.

I feel like this question may be a little silly but..

my boyfriend had his wisdom teeth removed and was on and off Oxycodone [I think that was the one, at least] for a weekend. He tried to take the pills only when the pain became totally unbearable.. because he didn't like the idea of taking pills. Anyway, he became super needy that weekend.. not wanting me to leave and constantly calling/texting when I had to go out to work. He also felt the need to tell me that he loved me and that I was wonderful every few minutes. Basically, he wasn't acting like himself. The night that he had his surgery, we stayed up all night, talking. He told me about tons of things [like the fact that he was in love with me and other types of things he didn't generally just say right out]. Did I just get a glimpse into his vulnerable, repressed, super needy side.. or were his feelings just clouded/affected by the painkillers he was on?

I have scheduled an appointment with a doctor for tomorrow morning because I think I have a Urinary Tract Infection, but I was wondering what would be good to treat the symptoms today. I am experiencing burning (even when I'm not urinating), cramps and nausea.
I also have a headache, and I want to know if it is ok to take something for it. I don't want to do anything that will make this worse.

I have to decide whether to apply for the Ultrasound program or Radiography, but I'm not sure. I know ultrasound makes alot of money but I don't want to base my decision solely on that. ok i'm trying tog et rid of a phobia of needles and doctors...i bought a book to help me and the book said to aske veryone i know of positive experiences with the doctorts, like talkuing about the actual experience...did the needles hurt that much? was the doctor really mean/ rude and so on...if you guys would tell me of your experience that would help me greatly! thank you.

A bit embarassing but I have large breast that cause back and shoulder pain and I am finally looking for a good Doctor for a breast reduction in Newcastle (near sydney)? australia

I'm not even 40 and I have not recovered from having my prostate removed. My surgeon told me to give it a year, but it has been two years and most of my sexual function is gone. I can not experience orgasm or ejaculation. Prior to this surgery I had my left testicle removed (they thought I had cancer, but I didn't). I'm on testosterone replacement therapy and I have sexual desire, but the problems is I can't do anything with sexual tension. I admit. I just end up crying. I don't know how to deal with this. I would do anything to have the ability to feel pleasure again. Anyone has been through similar issues? If you have similar problems, how do you deal with it. What about depression? I know I have a lot of issues going on, but any help or comments would be appreciated.

Ok so 2-3 weeks ago I skipped 4 of the pills that make you have ur period.. We was going to an amusement park on a Thursday and I didnt want to be on my period.. So I didnt take Sun, Mon, Tues, Wed, and Thurs I took that night when we came home.. My period started Friday morning.. I took Fridays pill and Saturdays pill on schedule.. Sunday I was so start a new pack of pills but my pharmacy was out and had to order my pills.. so I had to double up on Monday..

Now everytime I eat I get an upset stomach.. It doesnt matter what I eat.. I always feel sick.. I'm always sleepy but I'm also anemic..

What do u make of this situation?
