I'm not even 40 and I have not recovered from having my prostate removed. My surgeon told me to give it a year, but it has been two years and most of my sexual function is gone. I can not experience orgasm or ejaculation. Prior to this surgery I had my left testicle removed (they thought I had cancer, but I didn't). I'm on testosterone replacement therapy and I have sexual desire, but the problems is I can't do anything with sexual tension. I admit. I just end up crying. I don't know how to deal with this. I would do anything to have the ability to feel pleasure again. Anyone has been through similar issues? If you have similar problems, how do you deal with it. What about depression? I know I have a lot of issues going on, but any help or comments would be appreciated.

Are you taking any medications?Antidepressants and other medications can cause these problems in men and in women.I would sit with my doctor and have a real face to face talk about whats going on(not happening). He can help you sort out the likely causes and have a normal sex life again. My husband has his prostate removed and was unable to achieve orgasm also-- we both talked to the doctor. He changed his medications and we now have a sex life again.

Even though I am a woman, I do know what you are talking about. I had 8 surgeries in one year and ended up having to have a colostomy, which was reversed 3 years later, thank GOD but to this day I am self conscience about all the scars on my stomach and havent even wanted sex, and I dont know why.

I would recommend a good therapist to help you get over this, you are way too young to have to live like this.
God bless and good luck!!!!!!

I'd have a serious conversation with a good urologist. At the very least, he may be able to suggest therapies that may restore some function, or determine what's causing the problems you're having.

Good luck!

That is something unbearable, when you can't, even though your still there, all desire to move or do something. I have experienced something similar, but it involved being unable to move my entire body and almost going into a coma.
