I have to decide whether to apply for the Ultrasound program or Radiography, but I'm not sure. I know ultrasound makes alot of money but I don't want to base my decision solely on that. I want to enjoy what I do. Are there any radiographers or sonographers that can tell me a little about why I should or shouldn't choose their field?

you need to do some job shadowing....and don't think of the money...think of how much you will enjoy your job..as you get older you'll find out that money is really very unimportant...so long as you have enough to feed yourself put a roof over your head and pay you bills on time.

Please don't base your decision on Vahid's response... radiography is very safe, so that should not be a deciding factor.

When I rotated through ultrasound in school, I was very bored. Sitting in a dark, quiet room, looking at a fuzzy screen, put me to sleep. X-ray has more action, though sometimes too much! Both can be tough on the body - x-ray because of lifting, pulling, pushing patients, etc., ultrasound because of the ergonomics of reaching around and over the patient.

See about job shadowing in both areas to get a better idea.

ultrasound is safer for health, esp for females.
many sonographies are done on pregnant women, so an interest in this field is required.
