An increased occurence of obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) is associated with people fatter than they should be (higher BMI) and I'm guessing that they probably snore more. Many of us gain weight with middle age and many people find they start snoring in advance years so maybe there's a link that we can confirm by common experience. (OSA is a narrowing and collpsing of the breathing pasages during sleep which wakes people up (usually briefly) http://thorax.bmjjournals.com/cgi/content/full/56/suppl_2/ii45

My sister is a pathological liar. She claims that 2 days ago she had a seizure, but that when she went to the hospital they did a test. The test didn't show any signs of a seizure. Supposedly, they did give her two medications, then sent her home. The medicines were Dilantin (not sure of spelling) and Kolanpin (again spelling). She leads a very stressful life. She has a boyfriend who beats her, she abuses prescription drugs (she has snorted them), marajauna is smoked in the home everyday, but she doesn't smoke it. She smokes cigarettes like a freight train. Ok I hope that was enough info.

I had my appendix taken out 12 days ago, it was an open procedure with some slight complications which have left me with a 4 inch scar. Anyway, the thing is, it's at that intensely itchy stage of healing and is driving me crazy. One end of the scar is still slightly open so I'm worried about putting creams etc on until it's totally healed over.

What can I do to stop the itch - it's driving me up the wall!!!

I am a retired man,62 years old and a non-smoker since 1975. I can't stand to be around them, because they cause my throat and chest to hurt. I help a friend in his business, but he smokes constantly. It's non-stop smoking for him. I told him how it affects me,but he doesn't believe me. Some days I am with him in his truck all day long, and I am really in pain even with the window rolled down.Other days we are in his office where it's just as bad. He really needs me to help him,but I can't stand much more. He has the right to smoke in his own place, and I feel bad about quitting. Any suggestions?

Okay, always during fall and winter, my fingers become like ice. I'm being serious. Last year, I took their tempature, and it was in the high 70's I remember. Now, I could honestly care less, I never notice how cold they are. But it's just very annoying to have cold fingers... But what's weird is, they're always cold. I could be inside, nice and warm, and they're still extremely cold. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this? I'm not going to wear gloves 24/7. I just took my blood presure, and it was 125 over 71. And it said my heart rate was 81 beats per minute.. If that helps anyone.

I fell off a 8FT. ladder in oct. landed on my back onto cement floor. Broke tailbone. That healed. Had mri, showed no nerve damage. I have constant lower back pain and legs go numb at times. No one can find a problem. had bone scan also, showed good. I have never had any problems with my back til the fall. I have one spot that feels like something is poking my spine and moves down left leg. My doctor says its in my mind. I wish it was. He doesnt now what else to do. I have been in excellent health til this. Told him not in my head. Had second opinion, they looked at mri showed good. HELP!!!! Live in Canton, ohio and no where to go for help. Doctors were orthopedic doctors. Now scheduled a nerve test, but said it would probably show nothing. Im tired and scared. Tired of the no concern from doctors and scared that I may live with this for the rest of my life with no explanations. Any one have any ideas??
